What drives the price
Genuine, OEM supplier, aftermarket
Genuine gaskets on sealing surfaces buried in labor are worth the box. The oil filter housing gasket on an N20 is the clearest example on either marque.
Elring, Victor Reinz, Corteco and Febi supply the factory gaskets. Same material, same carrier, no roundel. Continental and Gates supply the belts.
Aftermarket is safe on belts, pulleys and clamps from a name you know. Skip the unbranded tensioner — when it lets go it takes the belt, and sometimes the fan and the radiator with it.
