What drives the price

Genuine, OEM supplier, aftermarket

Genuine BMW and Mercedes rotors are Brembo, ATE, Zimmermann or TRW castings in a marque box. You are paying for the box and the counter behind it.

The OEM-supplier line is the same casting under the maker's own label. Same friction ring, same run-out spec, usually 30 to 40 percent less than dealer list.

Brakes are the safest place on this car for quality aftermarket. Akebono, Textar, Bosch and Zimmermann all make pads and rotors that meet or beat the factory part for noise and dust. Stay away from the no-name coated rotors — the coating is the only thing they got right.
