What drives the price
Genuine, OEM supplier, aftermarket
Genuine ZF and Mercedes service kits come with the pan, filter, gasket and bolts matched to the box. On a mechatronic sleeve or an adaptation-sensitive part, buy the marque part and do not think about it.
ZF sells the same kit in its own box for less than either dealership charges. That is the whole trick in this category: ZF built the transmission.
Aftermarket has a place on boots, mounts and hardware. It has no place in the fluid. Use the exact spec — a 9G-Tronic filled with generic ATF will shift wrong within a week and you will own the diagnosis.
