What drives the price
Genuine, OEM supplier, aftermarket
Genuine control arms and air struts are the safe call on Airmatic and on M and AMG chassis, where the geometry and the ride-height sensors are tuned to the part.
Lemförder and Meyle build the factory arms for both marques. The Lemförder box is the same arm without the roundel. Meyle HD goes further and reinforces the bushing that fails first.
Quality aftermarket is safe on links, bushings and mounts. Air suspension is where we stop recommending it — a cheap airbag holds pressure on the bench and fails in six months in a hot bay.
